NIKKI SIXX Gets MICK MARS Portrait Tattooed On His Leg; Footage To Air On 'L.A. Ink'
October 19, 2008MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx has issued the following update:
"[I] wanted to give you a heads up about this next episode of [the] 'L.A. Ink' [TV show] [which is set to air on] October 23 [on TLC; generally called The Learning Channel].
"Katherine [Kat Von D, star of 'L.A. Ink' and Nikki's current girlfriend] tattooed a killer portrait of Mick Mars [MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist] on my leg and we got to surprise him with it at the Los Angeles Crüe Fest show. It was a pretty emotional roller coaster ride to share the whole experience with Katherine, from the beginning of the idea to the end when we finally show Mick.
"I had a fucking blast. Hope all you Crüeheads tune in and watch October 23."
MÖTLEY CRÜE will perform at the re-opening of the legendary Hollywood Palladium on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles on Friday, November 14. Among the other artists tentatively slated to play at the Palladium relaunch are MUDVAYNE, JAY-Z, RISE AGAINST, GYM CLASS HEROES, the JONAS BROTHERS and others yet to be announced. The show will be particularly special for the CRÜE, who began their career 27 years ago on the Sunset Strip.
Tickets for the event went on sale yesterday (Saturday, October 18) at LiveNation.com.
CRÜE's 1989 album "Dr. Feelgood" is now available in its entirety for Rock Band. In addition, "Dr. Feelgood" and all of the band's other studio efforts were recently re-released in brand new editions.
MÖTLEY CRÜE will spend the next few days in Japan and will reportedly launch a North American tour with HINDER in January.
